WORCESTER, MA - Now that the 2023 Indoor Football League season has come to a close the Massachusetts Pirates are turning their attention to next year. The first order of business is securing a place to play. In a statement from Founder, Co-owner, President and General Manager Jawad Yatim, the team's top executive said the franchise is exploring multiple options.

"As the 2023 season expired, so has our current arena lease with the DCU Center in Worcester. At this moment we are evaluating all options in terms of where we will call home in 2024. We've participated in conversations with various arenas including the DCU Center, other venues within the Bay State and outside of New England. As we commit to a home venue in the near future, I can confirm that this will be strictly a business decision and our ultimate goal is to put the franchise in the best possible position to succeed. We've had some wonderful moments at Phoenix Field at the DCU Center in Worcester including a 21-4 record at home since joining the IFL in 2021, bringing the city its first professional sports championship, and not having lost a game in Massachusetts since 2022. The most impactful moments however have nothing to do with the field of play itself, it's connecting with the fans and interacting with the individuals who have been by our side from day one. We do it all for you, and we look forward to hearing those "Heave-Ho" chants in 2024. We will continue to provide updates as the matter progresses and thank you all for your continued support. "

Sincerely,

Jawad Yatim

Founder/Owner/President/GM
