Hartford Connecticut’s own Richard “Popeye Rivera won a unanimous decision over Brazilian hard punching Isaac Rodrigues at the Worcester Palladium before an electric crowd this past Friday Feb 10th at The Worcester Palladium, This is part of Popeyes vengeance tour as he is set out to demolish everything that gets put in front of him since losing a controversial split decision to former super-middleweight and light-heavyweight champion Badou Jack in Jeddah Saudi Arabia. Rivera who has a record of 22-1 (16KOs) met Jack on the Usyk vs. Joshua card back in September of 2022 where there was a mysterious situation on additional illegal seconds in the 8th round that showed what The Sailor Man is made of and the type of chin he posses, even with everything stacked against him in another country it showed who wanted it more that night but the judges gave the nod of 96-94, 96-94 for Badou Jack and the third judge had it 97-93 for Popeye Rivera. I believe they created a Monster that night because now everyone on the International Stage know the name and the talent with “Popeye The Sailor Man” thinking that everyone put in front of him is “Bluto” and focused on being Undisputed and wanting to fight everyone in front of him that has hardware with the first being as he quoted in his interview after his win over Rodrigues “I Want Beterbiev”!
