Mass Pirates win home opener 55-41 at DCU Center.

Worcester Mass.- The Massachusetts Pirates kicked off their 2023 campaign with a win over the Green Bay Blizzard to start the season 1-0, first year running back Jimmie Robinson reach the end zone twice on his great Pirates debut. The start of the game did not go as planned for the Pirates after a good setup by return man Jovon Durante on the first kick off where QB Alejandro Bennefield fumbled the snap on the goal line for a Green Bay recovery in the end zone. A stout defense spear headed by Naashon Hughes who smoked first year Green Bay QB Jerome Johnson coming off the edge for an incomplete pass where then Brendon White sacked Johnson just outside the end zone that showed the Pirate Ship was well protected. It was the tale of two halves as for a while in the first half Massachusetts held Green Bay to an unheard of seven points and then in the second half giving up more points then what they would have liked but by the time the clock had hit double zeros and ending the game it showed a 55-41 win for Massachusetts. Stay tuned as the Pirates come back home on April 2nd. for their second straight home game to start off the season at an 12: 05pm start time.
