Dominican right hand pitcher for the Boston Red Sox Bryan Bello started the 2022 season with the Double-A Portland Seadogs where in May he was promoted to the Triple-A Worcester Red Sox, in that same month I interviewed Bello who was stellar in his performances at Polar Park.

I was impressed with the lanky 165 pounder with his variety of pitches, his composure for a young talent just coming up and the way he handled his self with a good head on his shoulders and great character. I know talent when I see it and am also a good judge of character so after our interview I told Bryan that I envisioned him heading to the Green Monster playing for his Major League Ball club very soon, fast forward a month later and in June of 2022 he was called up to Boston. At the time when I mentioned such comment to him a couple of my comrades thought that would not be the case because it was rare for a player to go from Double-A to Triple-A to the Big Leagues in the same season so I was told that I was giving the kid to much credit. Bello went through some injuries in 2022 as his 2023 baseball campaign was delayed due to right elbow inflammation but when was able to take the mound he allowed a combined eight earned runs on 13 hits over 7 1/3 total innings with eight strike outs and two walks in two starts. After his latest start for the Boston Red Sox Bello received some not so great news, hours before Boston's series opener with Baltimore the club announced it had optioned him to Triple-A Worcester. The 23 year old had made only two starts on the season before the demotion, after the move to Polar Park Bello expressed how he was feeling about the Red Sox's somewhat surprising decision saying "Of course it's disappointing for me," he told reporters through a translator. 'I'm probably going to have to go down there, have a couple starts and get everything back on track" Bello continued: "I feel like everything I had to learn in the minor leagues, I already did. I think the rest of my development comes here in the Big Leagues but this is baseball and we need to adapt and get used to what's going on right now."

Red Sox manager Alex Cora said that Bello's option was not due to development but rather a necessary move due to where Boston is with it's roster and that the young right hander will be back in the Big Leagues in some point of the season.
