Highly regarded Mexican/American boxing contender Reina Tellez did the unthinkable, she did what most boxing pugilist said she could not do and now the whole world knows her name.
Tellez and her promotional company BoxLab Promotions accepted the fight against Amanda Serrano in just two weeks notice, just imagine if they had a full three month camp to work with what a different outcome it could have been in spite of a fabulous showing in the loss for Tellez.
Why do we at Showzen1 Productions/Vocero Latino think that Reina Tellez (13-1} 5 KOs won in this defeat, well its simple and realistic.
Reina who was undefeated at fight time (13-0) 5 KOs put her 0 on the line and dared to be great and get in the ring with someone she idolized growing up and some might say that she was even star struck by the Boricua great during fight week events.
In an era where Promoters baby their fighters and feed them tomato cans until they have a padded enough record to get ranked BoxLab Promotions took this fight knowing what many did not know which is that they have an elite fighter that will be a world champion in the future.
Reina Tellez originally fought at lower weights like flyweight and recently has campaigned at bantamweight and junior featherweight, this fight though was at 126 pounds (now remember this was on short notice).
The fact that she and her team accepted the fight at 10/3 minute rounds is just astonishing in itself and dont forget how she looked in doing so.
Amanda Serrano was looking for the knockout to break Cristy Martin's record in stoppages and threw everything but the kitchen sink at Tellez who withstood the punishment and in doing so countered amazingly where Serrano looked like she was in a war with a swollen black & blue eye.
Remember that Amanda Serrano is a legendary boxer & MMA fighter famous for becoming the first female and first Puerto Rican to win world titles in seven weight classes, holding multiple undisputed world championships & holding a Guinness World Record for multiple division dominance with a pro record of (48-4-1) 31 KOs.
BUT THIS IS WHERE TELLEZ WON BIG, After the fight Serrano told Tellez that after her excellent performance that she will be fighting again for Most Valuable Promotions , even Mike Leanardi who is the head of boxing for MVP as well as Co-Heads of MVP Jake Paul & Nakisa Bidarian approached Reina to congratulate the young phenom in knowing that BOXLAB has maybe the next face in womans boxing and maybe just maybe MVP will want to Co-Promote the young Aztec Warrior with BoxLab.
